I didn’t have the internet yesterday so I couldn’t post about what was really the best day of the ride so far. Really beautiful countryside through rural Lancashire and Cumbria, through to Shap Fell which – although daunting in anticipation – wasn’t as bad as expected.
Not having been to the lake district before, I was completely bowled over by it, and the villages had a feudal air about them. I half expected to see the Month Python and the holy grail cast come yomping over the hill.
Our abode for the night was the park of a lovely manor house. Pic of the refugee camp attached.
Next stop – Sporranshire.
