Day 4 – Treve
Day 4 and have now reached Haydock Park near Liverpool. About 421 miles covered.
Knutsford City Limits – Knutsford in Cheshire gets the prize for rhe tallest town sign so far!
Today was nice and flat after the first 20 miles which made a change. Lucky for me as I’ve done the last 200 miles with a tight, sore, right achilles (see pic) and sore left knee. I’ve checked and apparently “rule 5” from the rules of cycling applies on this ride so I won’t talk about the medical stuff.
Lovely country today including crossings of the Llangollen canal and the Manchester Ship Canal.
Really appreciate all the kind words folks. I’m sorry I’m not replying to all of them yet but when I get time, and reception, it really helps to see another like or message has come in.
Tomorrow it’s here to Penrith in Cumbria including a bit of riding in thr Lake District and an “opportunity” to climb the famous Shap Climb which is about 6 miles long.
After all that, for the record,, so far, I’m loving it.
