Day 8 – Treve
111 miles today from Fort William to the Kyle of Sutherland. The route traversed Scotland and ran along the great glen.
The highlight was a beautiful ride along the banks of Loch Ness, The Loch was still and serene in the lifting lilac coloured mist.
After a quick chat with Nessie it was on to Inverness which was lovely, having been ignorant about it I found out that Inver means “mouth ot he river and the river Ness runs through the Town.
Leaving Inverness we turned Northwards and up into the hills again. More stunning highland scenery before dropping into the Kyle of Sutherland to our overnight camp by a quiet loch.
Medical update – the knees were screaming at me furst thing this morning but at 21 miles they either recovered or went numb!
